The cards feature seven white cards with black animals, seven black cards with white animals and seven pattern cards. Each card is laminated and features rounded corners for long life and durability. Note from our Specialist Educator, Melinda Golinski: “I have personally used these cards with my nieces from 3 months of age and the response given by the different girls was amazing! I would pick one card and hold it in front of one of the girls for up to five minutes. I would sit very still with the card and hold it about 30cm away from their nose. It may seem boring, just holding one black and white card in front of a baby, but the high contrast nature of the cards is perfect for the developing connections between the eyes and the brain in this age group. They would stare, smile and laugh at the card and as they developed, they would try to hit and grab the card. My sister would then use a different card the following day. I highly recommend these as a baby shower or new born baby gift.”
